Chitterlings, Goat and Moonshine....

Guess which two I did NOT try at Mark's brother's 4th of July party??? Hint: It did not come from an animal! We spent the day with family that we had not seen in a long time and had a blast! The kids and Mark did eat chittlins', but only Mark braved the goat! He did comment that it was gooooood...insert goat noise. The kids were covered in black soot from all the fireworks they shot at and with their cousins. I even heard that they tried to blow up a dead carp they found in the lake. Thank goodness I did not know this until MUCH later! Carter declared that this had been the best Christmas ever! I guess with so many relatives around he thought it was Christmas...

You know you are in Alcorn County when....

Sorry, I just had to post this. Last week when we took Carter to see the Pediatric Cardiologist from LeBonheur it was his week to be at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth. As we walked through the front door, this message greeted us. Mark and I just thought it was hilarious! Considering I have Union County blood running through my veins, I am no stranger to country life, but...it AIN'T written in the front door!
***DISCLAIMER*** This post in no way reflects the care or treatment we received inside the hospital! Everyone was very nice, professional and absolutely wonderful!

Tonsil Two Step '09

Friday the 13th was not an unlucky day for us here at MaharreyMania. Both, yes both, boys got their tonsils and adenoids removed and Carter also had tubes put in his ears. The reason that the day was not unlucky for us is because everything went smoothly and the boys are feeling much better! Here are some lovely before and after surgery shots.

It's March Already??

Wow...2009 has been a blur for the Maharrey household! January was Matt's birthday,,he celebrated by going to a Lakers vs. Grizzlies basketball game with Mark and both the 6/7 grade basketball teams from church. Last year he had an 11 and 1/2 birthday party in the summer so he could have a swimming party and he wants to do the same thing this year. February was my birthday (36!) and I celebrated it with fever and a head cold!
Matt had his Spring Cotillion Ball last Saturday night, we had to pick him up early from a Scout campout. He won't admit it, but it was so cold Saturday night that I bet he was happy to be sleeping in his own bed!

Because of some chest pains, Carter's Doctor wanted him to have an echocardiogram, everything came back fine, but his EKG is not reading as it should so this Thursday, March 5th, we are seeing a pediatric cardiologist. Keep him in your prayers that we find out what is causing the pain and how to 'fix' it.

Both boys are not happy because they are getting their tonsils out Friday, March 13th....the Friday before Spring Break!
I finally download over 200 pictures from my camera..I won't post them all, but some are from this past summer, Christmas decorations and so on...Enjoy looking at them! I will post a few each day because our computer is experiencing technical difficulties (or is it me?)

Not Helping

I am pretending that something happened to my blog so I don't have to help take out the Christmas boxes. Mark even cleaned out the garage while I was geting a pedicure today, but do I feel guilty? Heck no! My dad is over here helping him, and they seem to be more productive if I am not around! Uh oh...here comes Mark...I need to look busy! I am going to look for new batteries so I can download some holiday pictures!
